Eclipse Across America Presentation

On April 8, 2024, a total solar eclipse will occur across North America. While Hutchinson, Kansas, won’t be in the path of totality, we will still experience an 85% obscuration or partial eclipse.

You’re invited to join the Cosmosphere on Thursday, April 4, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m., at the Justice Planetarium for the special event “Eclipse Across America.”

Cosmosphere STEAM Educator Mary Smith will present the planetarium show “Eclipses Across America.” Following the show, Mary will share what we should expect to see during the partial eclipse here in Hutchinson. The event is open to the public and requires no entry ticket. Seating is limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis. The Cosmosphere Gift Store will be open until 7:00 pm to stock up on all your eclipse supplies. Don’t miss this exciting opportunity to learn about this rare astronomical event!

PLUS! Join us at the Cosmosphere’s Partial Eclipse Viewing Party on Monday, April 8, from 12:00 to 3:00 pm in the south parking lot. Enjoy food trucks, free activities, and the partial eclipse! Learn more here.
