Cosmosphere Student Advisory Board Overview
The Cosmosphere, an international science education center and space museum located in Hutchinson, Kansas, is dedicated to inspiring the future through space exploration. To further engage with the youth of our community, we are establishing a Student Advisory Board to the President. This board will consist of high school students from Reno County who will provide valuable insights and feedback on various aspects of the Cosmosphere, including but not limited to: museum installations, films, educational programs, and field trips.
Deadline to apply is August 31st, 2025
Members will be selected by September 4th, 2025.
First meeting will take place on September 9th, 2025.

Composition of the Board
- Two high school students from each high school in Reno County will be selected to serve on the advisory board.
Responsibilities
- Attend monthly meetings with the Cosmosphere President and relevant staff members.
- Meetings will be every 2nd Tuesday of the month from 3:00pm to 5:00pm.
- Offer opinions and feedback on museum installations, films, educational programs, field trips, and other initiatives.
- Act as ambassadors for the Cosmosphere within their respective schools and communities.
Eligibility
- Must be a current high school student in good standing enrolled in a Reno County high school.
- Demonstrated interest in science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics (STEAM) education and space exploration.
- Ability to commit to a one-year term, attending monthly meetings and participating in related activities.
