Spring Break Splashdown Activities at Cosmosphere

Community connection and fun for all ages March 11 through 20 at the Cosmosphere in Hutchinson, KS! Those 10 days encompass spring breaks for many Kansas schools and the Cosmosphere will be open every day during that period with extended hours from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Special spring break week activities at the Cosmosphere include:

Second Saturday Storytime at 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 12 on the Shuttle Wing above the Lobby.

Guided Tours at noon, 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. on March 12, 16 and 19. These docent-led tours provide additional insight into the Hall of Space collection. Tours are free with a Hall of Space admission ticket.

Celebrate Pi Day on March 14 (3.14). A Pi scavenger hunt sheet and other worksheets for students will be available at the entrance to the Hall of Space. Once completed, the sheets can be turned in at the visitor’s desk for a prize.

At 2 p.m., visitors can participate in a Pi Reciting Contest. Sign up begins at 1 p.m. at the entrance to the Hall of Space. A prize will be awarded to the participant able to recite the most digits of Pi.

March 17 is St. Patrick’s Day and the bi-monthly Coffee at the Cosmo, which begins at 9 a.m. in the banquet room. The topic of the March Coffee is The Fallen Sky: An Intimate History of Shooting Stars. Also on St. Patrick’s Day, visitors who purchase tickets to the documentary Ireland receive a coupon for a free soda and popcorn.
