New Cosmosphere Camps: Registration and Scholarship Applications Open
Students interested in attending a summer camp at the Cosmosphere can now register for their desired camp sessions, as well as apply for scholarship funds.
The newly redesigned Cosmosphere Camp experiences will inspire campers to pursue their career dreams while focusing on building necessary life skills, like overcoming challenges and working within a team setting. From learning how to program robots, to planning for life on another planet and training in Cosmosphere Camp simulators like the 4-G centrifuge and the NEW Astralis capsule-based mission simulator—Cosmosphere Camps promise to propel eager young explorers into their futures.

New Display- Armstrong Apollo 11 Spacesuit Replica
Visitors to the Cosmosphere can now get up close to a full-sized replica of Neil Armstrong’s Apollo 11 space suit. In honor of the 50th anniversary of the mission this past July, the National Air and Space Museum (NASM) created 15 replica suits, made using a 3D scan of Armstrong’s authentic Apollo 11 space suit, and placed the replicas at baseball parks around the country. Following anniversary celebrations, NASM offered the suits to various museums—allowing the public a chance to interact and take photos with the statues.
Guests can visit www.snapthesuit.si.edu and use their phone camera to scan parts of the suit (including the Apollo 11 patch, the NASA logo, American flag and more) to access videos and additional information about the mission, the astronauts and the anniversary.
Coffee @ the Cosmo
Offered every third Thursday from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m., experts in a variety of fields offer continuing education presentations related to science and space. Free to the public, coffee and pastries are provided.
On Thursday, Nov. 21, Cosmosphere Space Science Educator, Chuck McClary, will present: “The Final Frontier(s): The Relationship Between the Ocean and Space”.
New Documentary
On Nov. 22, audiences at the Cosmosphere can enjoy the new documentary film, “Out of Bounds: Mountain Adventure”. This exciting film follows snowboarding Olympian, Torah Bright, as she travels the world’s longest chain of mountain ranges— extending from Antarctica to Alaska. Along the journey, viewers will encounter penguins, polar bears, and hear from scientists and environmentalists to gather a deeper understanding of mountain ecosystems.

On Sunday, Dec. 1, the Cosmosphere— with more than 1,200 other museum stores worldwide— will participate in Museum Store Sunday.
