Movie producer and Discovery Channel storm chaser, Sean Casey, will be traveling to the Cosmosphere in Hutchinson on Oct 29 and 30. Casey and his storm chasing vehicle, TIV (Tornado Intercept Vehicle), will be on hand to promote his new documentary, Extreme Weather, showing at the Cosmosphere Digital Dome Theater.
The movie will show at various times over the weekend, followed by an opportunity to hear from Casey about the making of the film. Additionally, Casey will offer a presentation about his personal experiences chasing tornados in the Midwest, as well as photo opportunities.
Children’s activities, including weather-related science demonstrations, will take place throughout the day on Saturday.
Below is a full schedule of the planned events for the weekend.
Saturday, October 29
10 a.m. to 5 p.m.- Weather Experiments for children at the Innovator’s Workshop in the Cosmosphere Lobby on the hour all day.
10 a.m., noon, 1 p.m., 2 p.m., 4 p.m., 5 p.m. and 6 p.m.-Extreme Weather shown in the Carey Digital Dome
11 a.m.-Sean Casey will lead a Behind-the-scenes + Q& A following the film
1 p.m.- Casey shares tornado chasing images and stories in the Banquet Room
3 p.m.- Sean Casey will lead a Behind-the-scenes + Q& A following the film
5 p.m.- Casey will take pictures with the public and offer autographed items in the Carey Digital Dome lobby
Sunday, October 30
11 a.m.- 5 p.m.- TIV will be available for public pictures in the Cosmosphere parking lot
1 p.m.- 5 p.m.-Extreme Weather documentary will show every hour in the Carey Digital Dome
2 p.m.- Casey shares tornado chasing images and stories in the Banquet Room
