The Cosmosphere Is New and Exciting This Spring Break

HUTCHINSON, KS, Feb. 25, 2025 – Updated galleries and fun for all ages during Spring Break, March 14 through 23 at the Cosmosphere in Hutchinson, KS. During Spring Break, the Cosmosphere will have extended hours from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Exciting new educational interactives and a climb-in Apollo capsule will be in place, and the gallery updates will be nearly finished. Come see for yourself! Events include: 

Guided tours of the Hall of Space Museum at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. on March 15 and 22. Renovation of the Cosmosphere’s incredible Hall of Space Museum is almost finished. Come see the updated galleries in the way that highlights them best: with a tour from one of our knowledgeable volunteers! Tours are free with a Hall of Space admission ticket. 

Spring Into STEAM Camp is a STEAM-based day camp for fourth through sixth grade students that takes place on March 17-21 during Spring Break. Students will conduct a mission in the Cosmosphere’s capsule-based simulator Astralis, train like an astronaut in our 4G centrifuge, and meet former NASA astronaut Dorothy Metcalf-Lindenburger in person. Coffee at the Cosmo, a free public lecture series with coffee and refreshments, will take place March 20 at 9 a.m. in the Banquet Room. Former NASA astronaut Dorothy Metcalf-Lindenburger will present “Launching Your Big Dreams.”

A new documentary will see its Cosmosphere debut on March 14: T-Rex, narrated by Sam Neill. T-Rex uses new paleontological findings to update viewers’ knowledge about this giant dinosaur. Starting March 14, this new documentary will show multiple times per day in the Carey Digital Dome Theater.
