Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide an entertaining, educational experience to youth participants from grades K-12.
• Actively engage students with learning opportunities while they are here, adapting to diverse personalities and learning styles as needed. Deliver presentations in various settings, including the museum.
• Work with various scouting organizations, such as Scouts, Girl Scouts, American Heritage Girls, and Trail Life, and deliver content that meets various badge (or equivalent) requirements.
• Supervise participants during the program, mealtimes, transition times, and overnight (as needed).
• Participate actively in all program training sessions.
• Assist with program preparation, set-up, and clean-up of activities as needed.
• Maintain a positive, supportive, professional working relationship with all team members, participants, and parents.
• Be knowledgeable about the facility and, as needed, guide visitors to the building, education area, and museum.

Work Requirements

• Schedule: Saturday – Sunday (20 hours per week)
• Physical dexterity (some lifting of heavy materials and equipment necessary).
• Mental effort: working on the computer while working on the job, reading, writing, analyzing, and visualizing.
• Sensory requirement: ability to communicate and respond to participants and staff.
• Able to work under stress.
• Excellent attendance is required.
• Background check as it relates to job duties and youth program requirements.
• Part-time position.
