What drew you to becoming involved in Cosmosphere Camps?  I’m a camp student and ambassador, my counselor told me about it and I thought it would be a great opportunity to get to work with high school students.

What do you most look forward to this Camp season? Get to interact with the students attending, gain new leadership skills and meet new people.

What do you hope to accomplish this year being involved with Cosmosphere Camps? New leadership skills.

What drew you to becoming involved in Cosmosphere Camps? Working with young students & seeing the activities they participate in. When I was younger I also did other Kansas camps and I wanted to do what those counselors did for me, which is have a great time.

What do you most look forward to this Camp season? I look forward to seeing all the smiles and laughs the campers will have.

What do you hope to accomplish this year being involved with Cosmosphere Camps? I hope to be able to gain more of a counselor/team skills to help me more coersive with future group work.

What drew you to becoming involved in Cosmosphere Camps? What drew to me to be involved with the camps is that I love science and telling people about how awesome it is

What drew you to becoming involved in Cosmosphere Camps?  I really enjoyed the Cosmosphere camps and thought it would be a lot of fun to come back as a counselor.
What do you most look forward to this Camp season? I am most looking forward to interacting with the campers and teaching them about space.

Are you currently in school? I am a Sophomore at Wichita State University and I am studying aerospace engineering.

I'm a pilot, I've gone to Cosmosphere Camps Space 201 through 501 as well as Xtreme, I'm a licensed open water SCUBA diver and I also work for NASA in the NASA in Kansas Jump Start Program as a test pilot helping to develop new software on flight simulators such as Xplane.
Did you attend Cosmosphere Camps as a camper? I attended Space 201 through 501 and Xtreme.
What drew you to becoming involved in Cosmosphere Camps? I wanted to become a Counselor because I loved the Cosmosphere camps so much that I wanted to keep participating in the summer camps and help other campers to have the same fantastic experience I had.
What do you most look forward to this Camp season? I am looking forward to to helping campers learn about flight and space exploration.

What is your occupation? Full time Space Science Educator at the Cosmosphere

List any credentials you might have related to Cosmosphere Camp. I have a history degree with an emphasis on the Cold War and four years of Cosmosphere education experience.

What drew you to becoming involved in Cosmosphere Camps? I have had a lifelong fascination with aviation, and this translated well to space travel and space exploration.

What do you most look forward to this Camp season? Taking the Space 401 campers to see Cape Canaveral. If you are interested in space at all, Cape Canaveral is something you must see at some point in your life.

What do you hope to accomplish this year being involved with Cosmosphere Camps? I hope to help provide the most fun and most educational experience possible to our students.

Three things you’d bring to Mars: Assuming all basic needs are already taken care of, a camera, a copy of The Sting, and a computer so I can watch it.

Received California Teaching credential from California State University at Northridge. Worked as a California credentialed teacher for 4 years In Burbank, Southern California. Worked as Gifted/Talented Facilitator and for McPherson County Special Education Cooperative for 3 years.   

What drew you to becoming involved in Cosmosphere Camps?  ​As a Gifted/Talented Facilitator I used the Cosmosphere education programs for my students and loved all the programs they offered.  This seemed like a perfect chance to do more with a wonderful museum!
What do you most look forward to this Camp season?​  Getting to know students and hearing their stories and dreams for the future.

What do you hope to accomplish this year being involved with Cosmosphere Camps?  ​I hope to inspire kids to try new challenges in Math and Science.  I want to help them feel confident in these areas, so exciting avenues will be open for them.​

Did you attend Cosmosphere Camps as a camper? I attended Space 201 and Space 301 in 2016 and 2017 respectively.
What drew you to becoming involved in Cosmosphere Camps? I have always loved the Cosmosphere and enjoyed the camps so much that when I was approached by one of the directors and was told that I could apply as a counselor. I instantly applied!
What do you most look forward to this Camp season? I look forward to working with the campers that come and helping them learn more and get excited about everything related to space. I am also looking forward to working in the Cosmosphere again as I love that place!
What do you hope to accomplish this year being involved with Cosmosphere Camps? I hope to meet new people, help them learn more, and learn more myself about things which I don’t know!
Three things you’d bring to Mars. This is a hard one! I believe I would take my Bible, my keyboard and my guitar. I am assuming that there will be a way to communicate with my friends and family automatically built into the system. Are you currently in school? Yes! I will be a senior this fall. I study psychology and sociology and the University of Notre Dame.
List any credentials you might have related to Cosmosphere Camp. I was a counselor at the Cosmosphere last year and had the most amazing time meeting the campers, getting to know my co-workers and learning leadership skills and space facts. I'm so happy to be coming back this summer!
What drew you to becoming involved in Cosmosphere Camps? I became interested in getting involved because I participated in other science and mathematics-based camps throughout middle school and high school and loved the experience. I wanted to serve this camp to help encourage a love for science in our kiddos! 
What do you most look forward to this Camp season? I look forward to getting to know our campers and having a fun, educational summer with each one of them! They're the best part of the counselor experience. 
What do you hope to accomplish this year being involved with Cosmosphere Camps? I hope to learn more about space as well as form great relationships with the Cosmosphere camps team and the campers.
Three things you’d bring to Mars: I'd bring a really good camera, my favorite book (Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen) and of course my dog (she'd look really cute in a space suit)!

Three things you’d bring to Mars: The book, The Martian (as a survival guide just in case I get stranded), a scrunchie (I never go anywhere without one), and a towel (because its about the most massively useful thing you can have)

Fun fact about yourself: I am a University Innovation Fellow, which means I am a member of a global community dedicated to empowering college student to create change in their communities. This organization has helped me do things like be a part of starting a hammocking initiative at my school, being a co-director for Start-up Grind U, and go around to local schools and teach students about eutrenpenuership and innovation.

Are you currently in school? Yes! I study Earth Space Science Education.

What drew you to becoming involved in Cosmosphere Camps? My grandparents have lived in Hutchinson as long as I can remember and they used to take me here when I was younger. I absolutely fell in love with the Cosmosphere and I knew that I wanted to work here from a very young age! 

What do you most look forward to this Camp season? I think the thing I look forward to the most during the summer is being able to teach and share my passion for the cosmos with my campers. 

What do you hope to accomplish this year being involved with Cosmosphere Camps? I hope to pass on even a little bit of my excitement about space and space travel to my campers. If I can even get them curious, then I think I’ll have done my job well.

What drew you to becoming involved in Cosmosphere Camps? As a kid, I always remembered going to the Cosmosphere and watching movies on the dome. Now that I am an adult, I love being a part of the magic that I experienced when I was younger.
