  • Space Out Saturday: Celebrating Halloween on the ISS

    THIS MONTHS SUBJECT: Celebrating Halloween on the International Space Station! Halloween is coming, how do astronauts celebrate on the International Space Station? Come and make your own ghosts while celebrating with the candy the astronauts eat in space!

    Family day at the Cosmosphere with free programming for kids – from little tikes to middle school. Join us every third Saturday for our FREE kid-friendly, fun and educational Space Out Saturday! Plus: Don't miss our guided tours at 12:00 pm, 2:00 pm and 4:00 pm.* (*Hall of Space admission required. Reno County residents are FREE.)

  • Early Closing of the Lobby and Main Entrance at 5 pm

    The Cosmosphere's main entrance, naviGATOR simulator and lobby will be closing early to the General Public on Saturday, October 20 at 5:00 pm for a private event. The Carey Digital Dome Theater shows afer 5:00 pm will play as scheduled. The Hall of Space Museum and Gift Store are open normal hours until 7:00 pm.

    Please use the alternate entrance to the North of the main entrance, by the Richard E. Smith Science Center.

  • Drone Basics 2.0

    Date: Saturday, October 27, 2018 2:00 PM – 3:30 PM
    Location:Cosmosphere Multi-Purpose Room

    Thinking of getting or giving a drone for the holidays, but not sure what to purchase?
    OR
    Do you already have a drone, but it's difficult to fly?

    Join experienced Cosmosphere Space Science Educators for this hands-on class on Saturday, October 27 from 2:00-3:30 pm in the Cosmosphere's Multi-Purpose Room (MPR) on the lower level. (Be sure to check-in at the Box Office first!)

    You'll review drone flight basics, polish your flying fundamentals, understand FAA regulations and troubleshoot technical challenges.

    The Cosmosphere will provide drones for practice.

    Admission is $5 per person. Participants are encouraged to register and pre-pay. Payment will also be accepted at the door.
