This volunteer greets and directs groups as they enter the facility. They must be familiar with building’s general layout and work with the front desk staff to guide groups to assigned areas at specific times. Job involves walking and standing.
Responsibilities
Greet and direct groups (mainly school groups) as they enter the facility.
Be familiar with general layout of the building: IMAX Theater, Planetarium, Dr. Goddard’s Lab, Discovery Classroom, Hall of Space Museum, bathrooms, First Aid and emergency exits.
Work with front desk staff to guide groups to assigned areas at specific times.
Assist with dividing and organizing groups.
Rome the building and speak with our guests.
Work at the information desk or upstairs reception office.
Qualifications
Ability to work with large groups, especially school groups and teachers.
Good organizational skills.
Patience and tact!
Good physical condition because this position involves walking and standing.
Time
Required
Hosts generally work 3 hours a week during the school year, in the morning or afternoon. In the summertime, we welcome hosts’ assistance with the general public.
