Hall of Space Museum

Elmo is on a space adventure in the Cosmosphere’s Hall of Space Museum. He’s having so much fun exploring all the rockets, astronaut suits, and spaceships!

Keep your eyes peeled, and you might be able to spot him. Find all five Elmos for a chance to win a 4-pack of tickets to see Elmo in Sesame Street Live’s “Can’t Stop Singing” at Intrust Bank Arena February 1 – 3!

Find Elmo contest runs through January 18, 2013. Hall of Space Museum admission: Adults: $12.00, Seniors (60+) and Children (4-12): $10.00, Kids 3 and under (and all Reno County residents) FREE

DISCOVER the science behind the magic in the Justice Planetarium’s newest show, Illuminations.

TAKE OFF in the Camp KAOS astronaut training center and see if you have The Right Stuff.

EXPLORE history in the Hall of Space Museum supported by special stories and insights by Cosmosphere docents.

VENTURE into the Cosmosphere’s vault** for an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at artifacts not on display! See spacesuits, items from the movie Apollo 13, and other ?own space artifacts.

EXPERIENCE explosive fun and rocket science in Dr. Goddard’s Lab.

SCOPE OUT the new Carey Digital Dome Theater including an insider’s view of the projection room!

Open House activities will replace regularly scheduled programming.

10:00-11:30 AM & 1:00-2:30 PM: Storytime - open to all ages

Join staff from the Hutchinson Public Library's Children's Department for reading, singing, fun, and cookies in the Cosmosphere lobby! This month's theme: FANTASY

10:00-11:00 AM & 1:00-2:00 PM: Explorer's Workshop - open to all, recommended for ages 5-10

Bring the family to a unique, fun and educational experience! Exciting live demonstrations and hands-on activities let us explore space science. This month: Build and launch ROCKETS!

11:00 AM & 2:00 PM: Space Trek - open to all, recommended for ages 5-10*

Adventure awaits for young space explorers! This kid friendly tour of the Hall of Space Museum will reach your young astronaut-to-be on their level. They'll get to stand on a Gemini-Titan launch pad, see spacesuits worn by actual astronauts, venture into an actual Apollo white room, and see spacecraft that have traveled to the Moon and back.Tour lasts approximately 30 minutes.

Admission to all Space Out Saturday activities are FREE* and require NO advance reservations.

*Hall of Space admission required (Reno County residents are FREE).

Come to the Kansas premiere of "Space Shuttle Columbia: Mission of Hope" at the Kansas Cosmosphere and Space Center. Presented by KPTS.

With a live introduction by ?ve-time shuttle Astronaut STEVEN HAWLEY, PH.D.

6:30 p.m. Reception with heavy hors d’oeuvres

7:10 p.m. Welcome and comments by Steven Hawley, Ph.D.

7:30 p.m. Premiere screening of Space Shuttle Columbia: Mission of Hope. Networking and refreshments to follow.

Your recommended donation will reserve your seat and bene?t KPTS and the Cosmosphere: $30 for KPTS Signal Society and Cosmosphere Premium Members; $40 for all others.

Pre and post receptions provide an opportunity to view artifactsand visit with Astronaut Steven Hawley, Ph.D.
