Kansas Cosmosphere and Space Center

The Kansas Cosmosphere is home to the Apollo 13 capsule Odyssey and we will be celebrating the 40th Anniversary of the Apollo 13 mission in a big way. On April 16 and 17 the Cosmosphere will be hosting several events and screenings, culminating with a Mission Control presentation event at the sports arena on April 17 at 10 AM and a fundraising gala and VIP reception that evening.

Tickets for the Mission Control presentation featuring flight directors Gene Kranz, Milt Windler, Gerry Griffin and communications personnel from mission control Ed Fendell, Jerry Bostick, Sy Liebergot as well as Astronaut capsule communications Jack Lausma and Joe Kerwin. Also participating will be pad leader Guenter Wendt and moderating the presentation is Andrew Chaikin, noted space author. Tickets are available at the Cosmosphere in advance or at the door starting at 9 AM at the Hutchinson Sports Arena, West entrance on April 17th. Tickets are $5 for adults and $2 for children under 13. A launch re-enactment will be held at Gowans Stadium (weather permitting) at 9 AM on April 17th. This event is free to the public and will include launches of several model rockets including a Saturn V and and audio feed of the historic launch of Apollo 13.

This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and the Cosmosphere is honored to host this reunion of crew members along with many other Mission Control personnel and former Astronauts such as Alan Bean who will be here as our guests to honor this crew and their mission. We hope to see you there.
